Luminescent Grand Akshay Sawhney

We have highlighted the Luminescent Grand on our blog before because it is so amazing. As you can see from the photo above, it was a BIG hit at Maker Faire, all the pianists wanted to give it a try.  So we thought you might also like to see it’s creator, William Jerome (Coda) playing it for the crowd.

We were thrilled when we recently found a video that explains a bit of the conceptualization behind the programming, and we knew you would want to see that too.

super LEDsThanks to our client Edmund Chui sending these great videos of his work in progress, we have a chance to show you the brand new product that we recently introduced at our booth at  Maker Faire. This Super Density strip of individually addressable RGB LEDs is densely packed with 72 pixels per 1/2-meter section, making it about five times as bright as the same length of a Single Density roll. You can enjoy countless hours of beautiful chasing and transitioning patterns with a wireless controller, your own Arduino programming, or programs that you write for our Elite or Pro Controllers with our free software.

Here is a peek at how Edmund plans to use the Super Density Strips:

And this is what Edwin had to say:

This is quick peek at the next step for the rings project. I got a 144-LED/meter super density fully-addressable LED strip (WS2812 for those who care) from CoolNeon.com at Maker Faire this weekend.

You can see his other videos showing some of his steps HERE HERE, HERE, and HERE.

We hope you are as excited about our new Super Density LED Strips as we are.

organic armorWe received a note on our Facebook Page from Organic Armor and we wanted to share it with you.

“The piece is wired with an awesome product by Cool Neon – FunHouse Productions called Total Control Lighting.  This is made of LEDs with an arduino controller. Ping pong balls diffuse the light. We are planning a small swarm of firefly costumes for next summer with the fabulous Whee Ahh Faerie Kin. You can see the firefly costume Paul made for the {Re}HAPPENING event last spring in this little video clip:”

Over here at Cool Neon we love the gorgeous firefly costume and look forward to seeing more of them this summer.  Thanks so much for posting this on our Facebook Page.
