In 2003, Paul and Benny turned the reins of Camp Roller Disco over to the Godfather of skating:   D. Miles Fresh details of Roller Disco 2004 are posted HERE History of Roller Disco at Burning Man After experiencing the unmitigated joy of roller disco in Amsterdam, we decided to set up our own roller disco at Burning Man 2K...
Roller Disco 2000 was a rocking success on the playa! The floor was approximately 40' X 64', with a special offshoot just for dancin'. Constructed of many sheets of oriented strand board, it was screwed together by Funhouse elves (thanks especially to Paul and Dan), with groovy Cool Neon polka dots routed into the floor right on the playa, courtesy of Rebecca Bleau! Special ultra-duper-super thanks go out to Dan Cohn, who (through heat and rain) voluntarily set up the sweet, very disco lighting for the rink -- and he doesn't even skate! YES, we did it again at BM2K+1. Roller Disco on the Playa! Burning Man invited us to be in Center Camp in 2001. And then again in 2002 we beckoned skaters to Center Camp with our Disco Light- House, then dazzled then with the un paralleled DJ skills of David Miles . Our camp plans are here, and info about our incredible chill-space the Desert Nose is at Howard's site.
